The mission of the First Unitarian Church of Orlando ("1U") is to exemplify liberal religion in Central Florida with a commitment to lifelong spiritual growth and compassionate service to the community. As a welcoming congrgation we have been performing same-sex union and wedding ceremonies for over 20 years. Our members are dedicated to promoting social justice and putting our Unitarian Universalist values into action.

We are an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ.

We are a congregation with Open Hearts, Open Doors, and Open Minds. We want every person to know that they are loved and valued as a precious child of God.

Our Vision
Centered in love, we celebrate an enlightened world of peace, harmony, and abundance for all.

We begin every Sunday service by declaring: "Welcome to Unity of Saint Petersburg where diversity is praised and peace and harmony are the rewards."

We support the work of Equality Florida and have participated in events of, and contributed to the Equality Florida Palm Beach County Meet-up. We also have a comprehensive nondiscrimination clause in our by-laws (adopted in 1996)which reads as follows:
