About
St. John’s Cathedral is home to a vibrant and diverse congregation in downtown Jacksonville, which gathers for worship and then is sent forth to love and serve the Lord. We trace our heritage to the first Episcopal service in Florida which took place on the banks of the St. John’s River in 1829. The first services on Billy Goat Hill, which remains our physical location, were held in 1834, establishing St. John’s Parish. Since 1951, this church has served as the cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida.
Our Vision:
Through the heartbeat of our sacred worship, we bring together people of profound difference to serve God, to love and learn from one another.
Our Mission:
Inspired by the love of Jesus, we are building the kingdom of heaven here on earth, where differing people live in community, serving God and each other.
Holy Eucharist Sundays at 8 and 10 a.m.
