Kristen R. Weick, MA, LMHC, NCC ("Kristy") is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Florida and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She received her Master of Arts (MA) degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. Her specializations in counseling include LGBTQIA+ people and their concerns, people living with HIV/AIDS, people in ethically non-monogamous / polyamorous relationships, general relationship counseling, increasing self-esteem, self-worth, and self-efficacy, teaching coping skills, career counseling, life coaching, using mindfulness, and teaching assertiveness, boundary setting, and communication skills. Her counseling approach combines person-centered, multiculturalism & cultural humility, solution-focused, strengths-based, and cognitive behavioral theories. Kristy sees the benefit of finding a label for oneself and even finding community in that label, but knows that human beings are all unique and that labels may not apply or appeal to everyone, and may change throughout life. Kristy would be honored to help you find your labels, or leave them behind. Kristy's main goal is to create a safe space for you to explore who you are, your experiences in life, and what you would like to become or experience, by providing a non-judgmental, respectful, calm, stable, and positive atmosphere as your counselor. Kristy also believes that advocating for the human and civil rights of her clients, and for mental health care in general, is integral to being an effective counselor.
